Giant Eagle is saying goodbye
to GetGo. The superstore chain arrived into an accord to sell the comfort store
sites to Couche-Tard.
Couch-Tard is a
Canadian-owned, international machinist of convenience stores and gas stations.
"This is an thrilling moment for Giant Eagle, strengthening our business
for the future & delivering noteworthy benefits to our team members, partners,
customers & societies," Giant Eagle said in a free.
Rendering to the company, the
sale will help Giant Eagle focus assets to increase and grow their superstore
and pharmacy businesses.
The release states Couche-Tard
proposes to keep all committed GetGo stores, actions and support team
supporters as part of the sale.
The declaration noted that
GetGo has about 3,500 laborers & 270 locations in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West
Virginia, Maryland & Indiana.
The concurrence between the
two companies will see them partner together on the myPerks loyalty program
with plans to expand the program.
The sale is expected to close
in the 2025 calendar year & is subject to Federal Trade Commission
acceptance.
Giant Eagle is the
fifth-largest employer in Allegheny County & amongst the top 20 in
Pennsylvania, according to the most recent data posted by the state Department
of Labor & Industry for the first quarter of 2024.
