Jana Duggar is in the end declaring
out about her feelings on noticeing her siblings get married before her. As the
eldest Duggar daughter, Jana, 34, saw 11 of her 18 siblings tie the tie before
she did. On Thursday, August 15, she married her fiancé Stephen Wissman, 31, in
an cherished ceremony in Prairie Grove,
Arkansas.
In an interview with ‘People’,
Jana opened up about the emotional
journey guiding to her big day. “I would think, ‘Is it me? Do I have a
problem?’” she shared. “I have prayed for this for years and contemplate, ‘Why hasn’t it occured for me?’”
Jana, a former star of ‘19
Kids and Counting’ and ‘Counting On’, revealed that it was tough to watch her
siblings marry in their early 20s, while she endured single well into her 30s.
“I’m by far the oldest. It has been discouraged at times,” she said.
Among Jana's siblings who
married before her are her older brother
Josh, 36, who wed Anna Duggar in 2008, her twin brother John-David, who married
Abbie Duggar in 2018, and nine younger siblings, including Jinger Duggar Vuolo,
30.
Jana and Stephen promised in
marriage just two months before their wedding and she described the involvement
in as surreal. “For so long, I thought it would never happen. But now, it’s disappearing
in that this is real,” she told ‘People’. “It’s a dream come true.”
The couple’s “classic and
elegant” ceremony highlighted many of Jana’s family members. Her sister Jessa
Duggar Seewald, 31, work for as maid of honor, with Jinger, Joy-Anna Forsyth,
26, Johannah Duggar, 18, Jordyn Duggar, 15, and sister-in-law Abbie as
bridesmaids. Her father, Jim Bob Duggar,
59, walked her down the walkway.
The reception , attended by 500 guests, was catered by Stephen’s family, the Wissmanns, who are known for their culinary skills. “The
Wissmanns are unbelievable cooks,” Jana said before the wedding. “I told them,
‘I trust you guys—just do it!’”
The commemoration was a true
family affair, as Stephen’s sister, Hannah, is married to Jana’s brother
Jeremiah, who wed in March 2022.
