As her gold medal score of 56.480 was announced, the audience at Bercy Arena erupted in applause, and Page collapsed to the floor in tears of joy.
“Seeing my name come on top of the scoreboard meant I had the chance of becoming an Olympic champion,” Page said about the moments before her victory was confirmed.
When the final standings were revealed, the emotions from years of hard work and sacrifice surfaced as Page secured Team GB’s first-ever Olympic gold medal in trampoline. This Olympic title complements the gold medal she won at the 2023 World Championships, making her the reigning Olympic and world champion in her discipline.
Before the competition, Page had expressed her ambition to win gold, saying, “It would be absolutely unbelievable to complete the set… let's see what I can do in that moment. But I know that I'll be happy with a routine that is the top end of what I've been training.”
Following her victory, the 33-year-old athlete shared her future plans. “My plan is to continue,” she said, noting her goals include competing in synchronised trampoline at the 2025 World Games. “Then after that, maybe Cirque du Soleil if they still want to have me as an older athlete,” she laughed. “We'll see. Then I might try and make a comeback for LA [2028]."
