Surfing events at the Paris 2024 Olympics have been suspended due to weather conditions and are scheduled to resume on Thursday evening.

Suspended since Monday evening due to weather conditions in Teahupo'o, the surfing events at the Paris 2024 Olympics are set to resume on Thursday. The French Surfing Federation, following recent confirmations and denials from Paris 2024 organizers, has announced that the competition will restart at Teahupo'o at 7 p.m. Paris time (7 a.m. Friday morning in Tahiti). The schedule includes the third round of the women’s event and the quarter-finals for both men and women.

In the quarter-finals, Brazilian surfers Gabriel Medina and Joao Chianca, and Australian surfers Jack Robinson and Ethan Ewing will face off. Notable contenders like Americans John John Florence and Griffin Colapinto, along with Moroccan Ramzi Boukhiam, have already been eliminated.

French competitors will also have their moment with two all-French matchups: Vahiné Fierro and Johanne Defay will clash at 8:12 p.m. for a spot in the quarter-finals, while Kauli Vaast and Joan Duru will compete for a place in the semi-finals starting at 1 a.m. The surfing competition, the sport's second appearance at the Olympics, initially featured ideal conditions with impressive waves but has faced challenges since Tuesday due to adverse weather.
